Alpha
Colour Printers was established in 1979 by current Director Jeff Williams.
Throughout the eighties, Alpha specialised in one-, two- and three-colour
offset litho work and developed an enviable reputation for quality and
reliability. In 1988, Jeff was joined by a former colleague, Dave Butt,
with the aim of developing the firm’s colour printing services.
Alpha rapidly became known for its expertise, taking on some of the most challenging work from advertising and marketing agencies and surpassing the expectations of agency buyers. Over this time the company built up a core staff of experienced professionals dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service – many of whom are still working for Alpha today.
By the early 1990s the business was well established and profitable and beginning to outgrow its rather elderly factory which had limited access and no scope for expansion. May 2001 saw Alpha Colour move to brand new premises in Quedgeley designed and built to the firm’s specification. October 2002 saw further expansion on an adjacent plot with the building of another unit to facilitate the growing print management and fulfillment services – this unit became operational in January 2006. The factory now comprises over 24,000 square feet and from its position just off Junction 12 of the M5 allows for excellent accessibility.
From these humble beginnings, Alpha Colour is now one of the area’s leading printers with a broad client base including marketing and advertising agencies, local authorities and large organisations.
